Departments

Where patients are seen.

Four departments carry the daily work of the hospital: inpatient, outpatient, pharmacy, and renal.

Inpatient

Six wards and intensive care

The inpatient department holds the hospital’s 170 beds: surgical, paediatric, male medical, female medical, maternity, and private wards. Consultants, medical officers, clinical officers, nursing officers, interns, and trainees attend the wards.

The intensive care unit has 6 beds and is open 24 hours. Staff who work there are certified in basic and advanced cardiac life support. Ward visiting hours are 12:00–14:00 and 17:00–20:00. In intensive care, each patient may have up to two visitors, from 12:00–14:00.

Outpatient

The department patients meet first

The outpatient department runs daily. Medical and clinical officers assess patients before laboratory or radiology tests. Clinics cover maternal and child health, medicine, surgery, and obstetrics and gynaecology.

Casualty treats minor injuries and conditions that need urgent care and stabilisation. Published hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00.
